Programs
All TeamWork programs are grant-based. Each begins with an annual Partnership Agreement with the school’s Principal and Faculty members who will be involved in the program. If your school would like to be considered for one of our programs, please contact our Director, Kathleen Perry at kathyperry65@hotmail.com.
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAM
The TeamWork Education Foundation provides direct grants to schools who wish to create or enhance an existing instrumental music instruction program. School principals are encouraged to work with their music teachers to complete the Instrumental Music Program Grant Application. More than 10,000 students have benefited from this program which now partners with 25 Palm Beach County Public Schools.
ADVANCEMENT VIA INDIVIDUAL DETERMINATION
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nationwide system of teaching and learning college-bound methods and skills, including note-taking, team involvement and active participation as part of the teaching and learning process taught by specially trained AVID teachers. Of the 25 or more TeamWork partners Title 1 Palm Beach County elementary schools that have at least one of our programs in place, 5 of these schools have been awarded TeamWork AVID Grants of financial support.
SCHOLARSHIP MENTORING PROGRAM
TeamWork provides mentoring for high performance, at-risk, financially deserving high school students selected by their AVID teachers in our partner high schools. These students pursue scholarships awarded through a funding arrangement between TeamWork and an affiliate of the state of Florida. These scholarships award 30 credit hours at a four year Florida University or 60 credit hours at a Florida College. These students are mentored by trained TeamWork volunteer mentors during their 11th and 12th grade years of high school.
